The Ann Arbor District Library (AADL) held its third annual Record Store Day pop-up vinyl fair on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at its downtown location, coinciding with the national celebration of independent record stores. National Record Store Day, founded in 2008, promotes independent music retailers and often features exclusive music releases. Events typically involve community gatherings, music sales, and live DJ performances.
. The AADL event featured local DJs Dave Lawson and Batz, as well as multiple independent vendors and collectors offering vinyl, CDs, and cassettes.

AADL librarian John Bunkley, who organizes the event, stated its aim is to foster interest in vinyl records and to connect attendees with library resources that support music exploration and collecting. Bunkley described the event as both educational and nostalgic, sharing that it evokes memories of his own experiences hunting for records as a youth. According to Bunkley, the AADL’s Record Store Day has grown annually since resuming after a pandemic-related pause, drawing increasingly diverse crowds and fostering community connections.
