China Airlines (Taiwan) has placed a firm order for 10 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, confirmed in March 2025. The new jets will serve long-haul routes to North America and Europe from Taipei (TPE). These aircraft will complement the airline’s existing fleet of 15 A350-900s, offering operational commonality. The order supports the airline’s fleet modernization, passenger comfort goals, and carbon reduction targets.

The Airbus A350-1000 has a range of up to 9,700 nautical miles and is powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines. It offers 25% lower fuel consumption compared to older widebodies and is compatible with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). They also share full operational commonality with the A350-900s. China Airlines will retrofit its 15 A350-900s by 2028, upgrading all cabin classes with ergonomic seating, enhanced in-flight entertainment, and a modernized luxury interior.
